PTA at MEDICA 2017: Successful trade fair appearance for the Mannheim-based consulting company

PTA presents itself at MEDICA as an IT provider for the life science sector

MEDICA is the world’s largest medical trade fair with a focus on medical technology, healthcare and pharmaceuticals and attracted more than 120,000 visitors last week. PTA GmbH was also there this year and enjoyed four successful days in Düsseldorf.

MEDICA as a global meeting place for the medical industry

MEDICA takes place every year in November together with COMPAMED, the international trade fair for medical technology, in Düsseldorf. More than 60 percent of the total of 123,000 trade visitors this year were international participants from 130 nations. MEDICA thus underlines its global position.

The main topic at this year’s MEDICA was digitalization, which permeates all areas of healthcare. Another trend is dematerialization. Innovations in the medical sector increasingly consist of new software solutions rather than hardware.

PTA experiences successful trade fair appearance

PTA GmbH was represented as an exhibitor at MEDICA with a stand within the “Medical Cluster”. The aim: to show presence and get into conversation with potential customers or partners from Germany and Switzerland. A campaign was therefore launched in advance and dates for the trade fair were arranged.

“MEDICA was definitely a success for us, even though most of the big players were not there and a large international audience visited the trade fair,” summarizes Thomas Steinmann, Managing Director of PTA Schweiz GmbH. “We were able to hold some promising talks and present ourselves as an IT provider in the life science sector. Afterwards, we will now see whether any projects develop from this.”

What speaks for PTA: The IT consulting company has recently obtained ISO certification for medical products. This means that PTA meets the high regulatory requirements and clearly defined specifications that are required for medical products and can now also develop in accordance with its own quality management system. For customers, this means less effort, as in the end only the handover takes place and no longer needs to be developed on site.
