Adaptation and extension of employee photo management

Brief description
Adaptation and extension of the existing technical tool of the central personal master data to use several employee photos for each employee.
Supplement
To support the data creation process, an MS LightSwitch application is created to receive image information from a recording device (web cam). Its job is to store the read-in images under definite names in a special directory. An additional Windows service is provided to circumvent the MS LightSwitch-specific restrictions on the storage of files. Thanks to the extension of an existing import application (via a Windows Task Scheduler controlled .NET 4.0 application), permitting the transfer of image data to the central master record, several records with image information can be stored for every person entry. Moreover, the relevant person is informed per SMTP mechanism about the update of their data.
Subject description
The organizational process can be greatly simplified by the creation and adaptation of tools for creating and storing image information. This will be accompanied by a minimization of the effort required by the employees involved. Moreover, the fact that the images are so up-to-date is expected to increase the motivation of the employees themselves to publish the image information within the company.
