Brief description
Designing and implementing a software system for improving in-house logistical processes, such as labeling pallets and processing delivery orders.
Supplement
The system is implemented in multiple modules (labeling finished goods and merchandise, dispatching pallets) with PowerBuilder. Data is stored on an Oracle database. Scanners are connected on a text basis via the interface specified by the hardware manufacturer. A palletizing counter and the label printer are connected to the PC via serial RS485 ports. A component created with C++ and the COM technology is responsible for communicating with the ports. The component is used by the PowerBuilder application.
Subject description
The bar code system controls material handling. Inventory management is supported, e.g. in the context of the inventory, ensuring that deliveries are processed correctly, and in tracking pallets.
