Creation of functional requirements for restructuring of IT infrastructure

Project duration: 1 year, 8 months

Brief description

The customer uses IT systems from different manufacturers to support his business processes. These are mainly standard software products, but individual individual software components are also used. Now the IT landscape is to be tested for future viability. For this purpose, PTA employees model the actual business processes using the notation language BPMN 2.0. Change requests resulting from regulatory requirements and known problems with the current systems are documented in target processes. FIT-GAP analysis is used to identify the impact of changes on the systems and the quality of business processes. In this way, the customer can make decisions regarding system adjustments or replacements. Based on these decisions and the process models, specifications are generated.

Supplement

The processes are initially modelled on the basis of the publicly accessible "Cooperation Agreement for Gas" (CoV). The customer is bound by the agreement in his or her role as market area manager for gas. These processes are then enriched with company-specific information in workshops. Finally, the PTA employees observe the customer's employees in so-called "hand-on-sessions" during their daily work in order to guarantee complete documentation. The granularity of the process documentation is chosen in such a way that it will from now on serve as the basis for requirement specifications. For this purpose, the export functionality of the modeling tool "Agilian" is adapted to the customer's needs and used.
