Database modernization and optimization of the (test) data migration for EEG2.0 and EEG Internet

Project duration: 1 year, 9 months

Brief description

Due to the constantly growing amounts of data on the part of the customer, it is essential to develop the application along comparable amounts of data, if need be also to optimize algorithms in order not to exceed acceptable system response times. For this purpose, the customer provides data from productive operation, which, however, is first obfuscated. In addition, the aim is to upgrade the database server system. ETL scripts are provided as part of the project, whereby the transformation step consists of DSGVO-compliant obfuscation and omitting irrelevant fractions of of the data. Another part of the project is dedicated to the preparation and implementation of the database migration from Oracle Vs. 12c to Vs. 19c on the DB servers used by then development team.

Supplement

The transmission provider processes the EEG using a Java-based distributed application with the Apache TomEE application server and Oracle as the database, and on their customers' side within their EEG-Internet web portal based on the Apache Tomcat web server as well as another Oracle database.

Subject description

According to the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG), a transmission provider has the following responsibilities: (a) Discharge and reimbursement of the energy received by the distribution system operators within the transmission provider's control area, as defined by EEG, and the accruing market premiums in the case of direct marketing. (b) Recording the energy received (quantity and chronological sequence) and the reimbursement payments made. (c) Horizontal adjustment: Adjusting the received energy and the reimbursements provided among the 4 transmission providers in Germany. (d) Marketing the energy remaining with the transmission provider after horizontal adjustment. (e) Proportionate distribution of the incurred costs to all electricity supply companies supplying end consumers within its control area.
