The host system involved in the process will not be replaced in order to continue making use of the existing advantages of host processing for 6 digit item numbers. Items with extended item numbers are processed according to the same technical principle by the individual Java software. Numerous interfaces between all the participating systems and the Java application have to be adjusted or recreated. In the context of agile software development (scrum), there is a detailed analysis based on the requested technical functions (features). An as-is analysis is used to break the features down into packages, prioritize the features and pass them on to development in the form of stories. Self-defined functional test cases are used by the developer to accept the functions implemented in the Java application. All the implemented functions are documented in the form of use case documents. Functional sequences are modeled in Agilian with the help of BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation).
Subject description
In a special sales and distribution model, the customer offers its end customers items that the customer does not keep in its own warehouse but for which items the relevant partner supplier reports reserved quantities. The customer manages these reported quantities as virtual stocks in its own system. When its end customers order the items, the customer requests the goods from the partner supplier. The goods are either delivered directly to the end customer by the supplier or they are delivered to the customer’s warehouse, where they are collected and delivered to the end customer. The enhancement to processing of 8-digit or 14-digit item numbers means that the planned expansion of the product range can be carried out without problems by intensifying this sales and distribution model.
