Feasibility study for job scheduling in an insurance software system

This IT project is part of our digitalization and optimization of our customers’ IT landscape. Through targeted measures, we promote technological progress, optimize cross-system processes and create a sustainable basis for future developments. Our IT reference projects serve as a basis for orientation. They support the reusability of tried and tested concepts as part of project implementation.

Project duration: 3 months

Brief description

In a standard software system for the administration of insurance policies the batch processing has to be automatized. Based on a weak point analysis proposals for job scheduling are made and tested using a JBoss-based job scheduling system.

Supplement

In the standard software for insurances the batch processing is handled manually. The input of the parameters and the start of the batch programms in the Windows environment is done by dialogue users. They are processed in the foreground and produce results which are modified via MS Office and send by E-mail to the departments.

Subject description

A batchmanager programm of the standard software is used for import and export of data files of the partners and to the accounting. This function als runs in the foreground like other batch processes for printing contracts and checks and handling of claims. An automatic job scheduling is introduced, to reduce the manual activities.
