Brief description
Changing the fiscal year in SAP R/3, where the current fiscal year is closed as a shortened fiscal year in August and a new fiscal year is started in September.
Supplement
As well as changes in Customizing (fiscal year variants), it is very important to test the affected modules. In-house developments that previously assumed that the fiscal year matches the calendar year must be adjusted accordingly to avoid posting errors.
Subject description
Due to a takeover by a corporation, the customer company must change its fiscal year to match that of the new parent company. While the fiscal year previously matched the calendar year, the fiscal year will now start in September. This means that the current year is closed in Financial Accounting and a new fiscal year must be started. This can be expected to have consequences in the other modules (e.g. FI-AA, CO, PS, SD).
