Further development of an Internet portal for insurance sales

Brief description
Design and implementation of the enhancement of an existing online portal to include various functions. The portal provides users with information about and applications for rating different insurance modules. The new functions include a homepage that users can configure and single sign-on access for selected clients.
Supplement
The online portal is based on a three-layer architecture that is based on a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 database. The data access layer communicates with the database via stored procedures. The business logic and data access layer are implemented with C#, using the .NET 2.0 Framework. ASP.Net is used in the presentation layer. CSS classes are used for the layout; these correspond to the customer's specific corporate design guidelines. The portal runs on Microsoft's Internet Information Server. The applications available via the portal are integrated with the help of the Citrix MetaFrame Access Suite. The online portal can be accessed in two ways: a formula-based method and a token-based single sign-on method.
Subject description
Brokers, part-time representatives and bank employees are to be given support for selling insurance, in the form of special software for creating insurance offers. This software and other information about offers is made available via the online portal. Users and current events can be managed in the administrative area.
