Further development of metering point operation 2011
Project duration: 4 months
Brief description
Further development of the system integration of a meter data management (MDM) system from the company Görlitz (EDW3000) to map the business processes required for metering point operation for the relevant department of an energy trader (in 2011).
Supplement
EDW3000 is a standard software for the integrated recording and evaluation of meter data with a high level of process automation. The underlying business processes (remote meter reading, plausibility checking, automated transfer to commonly available data exchange formats) are mapped and device management is enabled. EDW3000 has a modular structure. The core module EDW.engine is used for the DB management of master and transaction data. EDW3000 is based on an MS .NET server platform with an Oracle or MS SQL Server DB (in the MS SQL Server DB project). To optimize the integration of the MDM system in the customer’s system landscape, the implemented interfaces and the master data maintenance application, among other things, are subject to continuous further development. In 2011, the focus will be on the conversion of the EDIFACT format MSCONS to Version 2.1d and the upgrade to EDW3000 Version 4.5.1 (update 5).
Subject description
With a view to opening up metrology, the Federal Network Agency (BNetzA), through the regulations it is working on, intends to create reliable framework conditions that are compatible with high-volume business for those involved in carrying out metrology. The standardization of business processes and contracts should enable rapid and efficient cooperation, especially between network operators, measurement service providers (MDL), and metering point operators (MSB) for the operation of metering points and for the gathering, processing, and distribution of the relevant measurement information. The enactment has been effective for the market participants since 01.10.2011. To begin with, the customer has taken up metering point operation for his consumers (power/DE) which are already supplied with energy. The customer himself is officially assuming both roles, MPO and MSP, in the market and the associated market communications.
