Group controlling
Project duration: 1 year, 10 months
Brief description
Design and implementation of a data warehouse for consolidating the group. The focus is on providing standardized reports and selecting and administering an OLAP tool. Users are to have access to the reports via the intranet.
Supplement
The basis for the reports is a data warehouse implemented on the mainframe as a DB2 database. Siron Web and Qubon are to be used to generate and present the reports via intranet. Data from the operative systems is made available with the help of PL1 programs.
Subject description
Decisions in a company, particularly decisions that affect the company's strategic orientation, are partially derived from key figures or information provided by controlling, among other factors. Building on experience in the machine servicing field (see project: Service reporting, project ID 605), the aim is to introduce an information management system at the group level in order to make corporate decisions on the basis of up-to-date key business figures. The core component of this management information system is made up of standardized reports provided over the intranet.
