Implementation of database views as an access layer for a reporting tool
Brief description
The aim is to set up a transformation process for the automatic processing of existing data deliveries, on the basis of which reports with economic parameters for gas and electricity networks are created. PTA implements the access layer to this data for the reporting tool.
Supplement
The aim of the transformation process to be set up is the automated checking and preparation of the data deliveries provided in Excel and csv format and the further processing of this raw data into monthly reports in Tableau. The import data is first checked for incorrect structure and content, corrected if necessary and then stored and historicised in an SQL database. The processed raw data is then used in Tableau to create reports with key figures on the gas and electricity networks operated by the customer. The Tableau reporting tool does not access the imported raw data directly, but uses an access layer based on database views, which filters and consolidates the raw data.
Subject description
The project is part of the customer's programme to digitalise distribution grid operations. The aim is to largely automate the creation of monthly grid access controlling reports, which are currently created with a great deal of manual effort. In terms of content, the reports essentially provide the grid operator's management with overviews of the grid loads, feed-in and feed-out quantities and costs for balancing group equalisation.
