Inventor's bonus system

Brief description
The inventor's bonus system is used for the customer's inventor's bonus award on the basis of German laws (Inventor's Remuneration Act) and on the agreements between the company and inventors. The project is based on a predecessor version from the year 2000 (also developed by PTA), including functional enhancements.
Supplement
The system involves a client-server architecture with an SQL Server 2008 database as the back end and a WPF .net client on the basis of C# (3.5), developed with Visual Studio 2010 Professional. The target framework version is 3.5 because version 4.0 is not yet available to the customer [05/2011]. The system has an automatic update function and various "ComponentOne" reports. The core of the system is made up of the calculation modules for cascading calculation of the various remuneration values.
Subject description
In Germany, remuneration of inventors is regulated by the "German Act on Employees' Inventions," which provides the legal framework. In addition to this, details can be and are agreed individually between companies and inventors. The result of this is that no two companies have the same inventor remuneration processes and the necessary IT solutions therefore need to rely on individual approaches.
