Mapping the continental European power market in Endur
Project duration: 2 years
Brief description
Migrating the European power business of a large energy trading company from the Xenon software used in the sector to Endur. PTA employees are responsible for various work packages in terms of analysis, design, implementation, testing and going live. The focus is on “deal modeling,” “interfaces,” “APM,” “master data management” and “physical delivery structure (control areas and accounting grids).”
Supplement
The project is divided into two phases, which are themselves further divided into work packages due to the extensive scope of work. A concept is developed in close coordination with the departments during the analysis phase, then implemented through configuration in Endur. Developers that implement individual script solutions in “Open JVS” are to be coordinated as necessary. After implementation, test cases are written (with the assistance of HPQC) and after acceptance, the departments support the testing appointments. Finally, the go-live takes place.
Subject description
During the project, the complete continental European power business is mapped in Endur. This includes all physical forward transactions, exchange products, options, FX transactions and swaps. In Endur, both on-board instruments such as “PWR-EXCH-FUT”, “PO-CALL-*”, “FX” are used, as well as user-defined instruments based on “PWR-PHYS”. Information is kept in “TranInfo” fields at many points. A detailed security concept and a deal lifecycle supported by criteria-dependent auto-validation simplify front and back office procedures. Many individual scripts and functions are implemented to validate the book structure, matching processes, consistent deal entries, etc., which also offers significant potential for automation.
