Master data harmonization for international enterprise resource planning
Project duration: 3 years, 5 months
Brief description
The item and supplier master data in various enterprise resource planning systems distributed across different countries is to be standardized. Using a centralized SAP Retail system as the basis, the master data is supplied to the different enterprise resource planning systems via a central database and the status of the standardization is evaluated at regular intervals.
Supplement
The master data changes maintained in the central mySAP Retail, e.g. in the areas of items, suppliers and product groups, are transferred via IDocs to a centralized database based on MySQL 5, where they are imported. From here, there is a country-dependent distribution of the master data to the relevant enterprise resource planning systems in each country. The imports, exports and transfer controlling are based on PHP 5; the transmission is based on FTP.
Subject description
Applications distributed across several countries and based on various enterprise resource planning systems are to be migrated to a shared SAP Retail system in the medium term. The item and supplier master data is often maintained differently in the different countries. In order to prepare for the SAP rollout in every country, this data is to be standardized, as far as possible, via a centralized data hub. As the master data is transferred from the central SAP Retail system to the countries’ enterprise resource planning systems and the master data is later transferred back from the countries to the central database, master data maintenance in the individual countries should be made easier and standardized before the migration to SAP Retail. Purchase prices should be maintained centrally and automatically transferred to the different countries.
