New and further development of an intranet blog application. Additional areas and functions are added to an existing intranet blog application. The application forms a communication platform for all employees. Depending on the user's role (author, non-author), either articles or comments can be created.
Supplement
Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework forms the technical basis for the intranet blog application. The web application is created with ASP.NET 2.0 and the C# 2.0 programming language. A three-layer architecture is used here to structure the object-oriented code. The data is stored in an SQL Server database and access is via a technical user specified for the purpose. The blog application is operated in the Internet Information Services (IIS) process on two web servers in the web server farm; loads are distributed by means of load balancing. The blog application's web pages that contain personal data are protected by NTLM authentication. The structure of the application is designed to be multilingual. Resource files are used to implement the different languages.
Subject description
An intranet blog application is developed to offer a communication platform to group employees. This platform is intended to simplify and significantly improve the internal exchange of ideas about news, projects and information. Multiple blogs can be managed within the application (e.g. one for each department, etc.). The users belong either to the group of authors or the group of non-authors. Employees assigned to the author group can create articles and add images and documents to these. All employees can read these articles and comment on them. Additionally, there is an administrative area in which authors can manage blogs, entries and comments.
