Brief description
The testing of standard software for calculating prices should be improved for the sales department of an energy supply company. The producer provides a new release for this software semiannually. The release must be extensively tested by the specialist department.

The task consists of the following parts: Creating representative test cases and expected results. Introducing a uniform procedure for performing and documenting the test results. Improving error management, including the communication with the producer of the software. Introducing a tool for evaluating the results of the test activities.
Subject description
The calculation of target prices is very complex in the energy industry and has far-reaching economic implications. The complexity results from a large number of price components having to be calculated according to defined price rules and parameters. For this purpose, a third-part application must be accessed in order to calculate the network usage fees, among other things. In regard to creating and performing the test cases, the challenge is to achieve the best possible test coverage of the software's functionality.
