Picking of web orders

Brief description
Development of an application for mobile devices (PDAs) to support the picking of web orders. Three different barcodes are scanned and processed: for the picking list, the article reference numbers and the code card of the concerned employee. These three codes were combined and stored to document the successful picking action.
Supplement
The application is developed as a three-tier, service oriented architecture (SOA) consisting of a mobile client using the .NET compact framework, an application server and a SQL 2005 data base server. The clients and the application server communicate via web services. The application is developed in C# using the .NET 3.5 (compact) framework.
Subject description
The picking of web orders currently is a manual process, where errors may occur. The automatic recording of pickings using a mobile device will reduce the error quote und lead to a more consistent data base for the leading ERP system.
