Specification and implementation of a price analysis system. The application is used for calculation (determining prices and turnover) and risk assessment of natural gas supply contracts using various price models as part of contractual negotiations.
Supplement
The price analysis system is converted based on an existing Oracle database that is accessed using a frontend implemented in MS Access 2003. The project comprises adding the data model and the Access application, as well as reimplementation of a Java-based Web frontend. The Web frontend is used exclusively for managing, planning and evaluating the pricing measures. Implementation is performed using JDeveloper and ADF Faces. Processing of pricing formulas affected by the pricing analysis is implemented in MS Access, as the required maintenance screens already exist.
Subject description
The existing system of the customer is used for managing and planning price formulas, as well as the sale and turnover of gas delivery contracts. Several contracts are combined into “scenarios” that contain the framework conditions for a plan. The price analysis system expands the planning functionality so that several variants of gas delivery contracts can be generated based on the original pricing formulas. Contract and pricing formula variants of the same type are bundled into (variant) scenarios with the remaining contracts that are not subject to a pricing analysis. After sales determination for an original scenario and one or more variant scenarios, it is possible to compare the results and quantify the effects of potential price changes on sales.
