Redesign and process optimization of an existing assortment management tool.

This system is a client-server architecture with an MS SQL Server 6.5 database as backend and an MS VC++ client based on MFC 6.0, developed with Visual Studio 6.0. Access for data exchange with SAP R/3 is via RFC using C++ proxy classes. The required system reports are implemented with List & Label.
Subject description
The Assortment Management Tool is part of an order entry system in which the information maintained in the ordering process is used. A direct interface allows you to transfer rationing data to SAP to ration orders in the subsequent ordering process. The tool also provides options for maintaining substitution articles, notes, batch specifications, add-on articles and other material-related information that is taken into account in the ordering process.
