Introduction of an energy data management (EDM) system from Robotron (robotron*esales/ecount) while phasing out the legacy systems for supporting daily business at the Grid Management (procurement) department at an energy trading company.
Supplement
Robotron*esales is a time series management system for sales and procurement. Using the core functions of the robotron*ecount EDM system, robotron*esales enables a closed process chain from procurement through to sales for energy suppliers. The system has component-based software architecture and provides a planning and decision-making basis using operative data. The individual system configuration is created from this basic system by activating specific components. Individually purchased licenses or functions form the basis of this activation. The application is developed using Oracle*Forms/web forms. The EDM server works on the basis of an Oracle10g database with integrated application logic. The EDM system is integrated into the customer’s existing system landscape by implementing a series of interfaces. The central interface here is the master data interface from the system that manages the master data to EDM.
Subject description
The customer previously operated the “ADS” EDM system from Aktif. This is to be replaced by the “robotron*esales/ecount” system from Robotron, which has better performance and maps the necessary processes better. Phase 1 – Electricity: On the basis of this system, the customer and the EDM software manufacturer shall run workshops to jointly work out a requirements specification for an EDM system in the electricity division. This specification covers network access in Germany and Austria and shall form the basis for a delta specification (functional specifications). Additionally, separate concepts shall be created for the interfaces and tests. The documents shall be subjected to reviews and approved by the customer. This is followed by the implementation, acceptance test and go-live.
