Data warehouse applications running on SAP BW 3.5, which is connected to SAP ERP 6.0, are upgraded to SAP BI 7.0, because the maintenance is ending. The focus is a quick transition (minimizing frozen timde and downtime) without additional functionality (access rights, interfaces, functions). Project and test management are done with the SAP Solution Manager.
Supplement
The system landscape consists of POS-systems (Torex Retail), affiliate retail systems, the central SAP ERP 6.0 industry solution Retail (including FI/CO) and SAP BI, which serves as the central reporting system for all subsystems. It is only a technical upgrade because the decision was that no investment should be made in additional hardware (for the Java stack) or licenses (e. g. MS Excel 2003).
