Consultation on the implementation of project-oriented archiving for an SAP R/3 system with the FI, CO, PS, MM, SD and PM modules in a plant engineering group.

Due to performance problems and rapid growth of the database, a one-off archiving is to be carried out and the conditions for archiving runs at regular intervals are to be created.
Subject description
As the business processes are mainly handled in projects, archiving is also to be controlled by the status of the projects. Only data belonging to completed projects may be archived. In the case of long-running projects (some lasting more than 10 years), all the relevant postings are to remain in the online system. It should also be possible to access the archived data according to the project. Furthermore, the GDPdU legal requirements (digital storage and verifiability) must be taken into account.
