Upgrade of SAP R/3 Retail release 4.7 to SAP ERP 6.0. The industry solution was implemented under the Enterprise release. Both the standard functions and customer-specific enhancements are changed over in the course of a technical upgrade to the new SAP ERP 6.0 system.

In addition to a variety of modifications and customer-specific developments (e.g. for promotions and for penalizing suppliers), functions that were retrofitted in the old release for the auditing of accounts are to be examined more intensively. In addition, the option of using functional enhancements is investigated. The basis for this procedure is SAP’s Upgrade Roadmap, which is simplified and adjusted to the project requirements. SAP Solution Manager is also used for the task structure and its documentation, specifically the project management functions and particularly transactions SOLAR01 and SOLAR02.
Subject description
Besides the basic tasks for the preparation and upgrade phase, the focus is mainly on testing the function areas that are already in use and that are integrally connected to the branch enterprise resource management, inventory management and cash register systems, as well as to the supplier and regional company portals. SAP Solution Manager is used with the Test Workbench to coordinate tests and update the documentation. Solution Manager’s service desk can also be used to process error messages.
