Workshop: overview of Microsoft Office SharePoint

The one-day workshop consists of a PowerPoint presentation and prepared practical examples, which are demonstrated live. It gives an overview of the usage possibilities for the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server. The possibilities of SharePoint are used to create the practical examples. The connection of an Oracle database is implemented as a prototype at the customer's request (customized programming with Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, .NET Framework 3, and Microsoft.Sharepoint.dll for access to the SharePoint object model). A Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 environment is set up in the in-house computing center in order to prepare the practical examples and demonstrate them live. The Windows Server installation required for this includes the provision of Windows SharePoint Services V3. The access for creating and demonstrating the practical examples occurs via the Internet.
